Falcon International Reservoir (Falcon Lake) is a massive, 84,000-acre transboundary lake on the Rio Grande between South Texas and Mexico. Dedicated by Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and Adolfo Ruiz Cortines in 1953, it is celebrated as a world-class largemouth bass fishery and a popular year-round outdoor recreation hub.
Lake Falcon is one of the most awesome lakes in the country. If you've never been to it, I would highly suggest going as you won't regret it. I always say, you haven't caught a real largemouth bass unless you've caught one here as they are the meanest bass on the planet. Even in the blistering summer heat, when most lakes completely shut down, this lake can remain very good and giant 5 bass limits can still be caught. You should see how these big bass blow up on a frog when that bite is on. It's like a bomb blowing up. On this lake, everything is bigger and if you ever seen some of the giant catfish or gar caught here, you know. There are alligator gar here that are over 300 pounds.
