Amistad is one of our trophy destinations, and we run it as a true all-inclusive package: you fly in, and we handle lodging, meals, guiding, boats and gear. All you do is fish.
Lake Amistad, located near Del Rio, Texas, is a stunning 65,000-acre desert oasis known for its crystal-blue waters, world-class bass fishing, and dramatic limestone cliffs. Created by a joint dam project between the U.S. and Mexico, it is a premier destination for boating, scuba diving, and exploring ancient Native American pictographs.
Lake Amistad can be one of the best lakes around with some pretty big largemouth bass caught through the years here. The best years ever for this lake were 2006-2009, where you could easily catch over 100 bass daily and sometimes over 200. I don't know if those days will ever come back but this lake still remains strong and there's always a good chance at a giant. In tournaments, there are still impressive bags weighed in and those can exceed 30 pounds. This lake is very susceptible to droughts and has been low for many years now, kind of like Lake Falcon, but still produces plenty of quality bass.
A smarter alternative to a Mexico bass trip
Amistad sits right on the border and delivers that same tropical-style big-bass experience — with the convenience and safety of staying on the U.S. side. No passport, no border crossing, no worries. Just beautiful water and quality Texas bass.
